Energy Department Awards $7 Million for Truck Decarbonization

Will direct funds toward heavily used truck routes.

The Department of Energy (DOE) awarded $7.4 million to seven projects that will draft plans to decarbonize key corridors along America’s trucking routes. President Biden’s administration continues to promote the construction of 500,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by 2030, and these seven projects will use these funds to identify key areas where support would be most necessary for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles.

“A clean transportation sector requires vast investments across the entire industry, including to decarbonize the trucks that move our goods and building more charging ports to get those trucks from coast to coast,” said Secretary Jennifer Granholm. “President Biden’s historic clean energy laws are making it possible for us to get more EVs on the road by expanding charging infrastructure into underserved communities, while reducing range and cost anxiety among drivers who want to go electric.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm to seek God’s guidance as she heads the Energy Department.
  • For U.S. energy officials as they pursue the decarbonization of trucks.
  • For the president and transportation secretary to be prudent as they promote EVs.
